The Koenigsegg One:1, Lamborghini Veneno Roadster and Bugatti Veyron owned by the Vice President of Equatorial Guinea have been seized in Geneva, Switzerland.
While exact details about the police operation haven’t been revealed, it has been alleged in the past that Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue has used state funds to maintain his extravagant lifestyle, reports GTspirit.
Both Mangue’s One:1 and Veneno Roadster are registered in Equatorial Guinea and were first seen on the streets of Geneva last year. His One:1 is finished in blue carbon fiber and is one of just seven produced. Mangue’s Veneno Roadster meanwhile is painted in two shades of cream dubbed Bianco Isis and Avorio and one of only nine built by the Italian automaker. As for the Veyron, it is bright blue.
It is thought that authorities began investing Mangue last year when his cars arrived in Geneva.
Mangue’s family is no stranger to issues with authorities. As a matter of fact, 11 supercars owned by his father, Equatorial Guinea president Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, were seized in Paris in 2011 and later sold at auction for a total of $4.1 million. Among them was a Porsche Carrera GT, Maserati MC12, two Bugatti Veyrons and a Ferrari Enzo.
