From the Lamborghini Huracan to the more humble Seat Leon, the Italian police force has some pretty amazing vehicles to fight crime, which have now been joined by a fresh FCA-made lot.
Announced on the PoliziaDiStato Twitter page, the latest batch comes in the form of a Jeep Renegade, powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder diesel, which pushes 120 horsepower to all four wheels, a configuration that’s not offered in the USA. Nor, for that matter, is the second addition to the range, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta hatch.
The same cannot be said about the third Polizia-badged car, the Alfa Romeo Giulia that uses an inline-four unit, rated at 280 HP and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, and mated to an all-wheel drive system, which will go on sale on this side of the Atlantic next month. The premium compact sedan joins the two Giulia QVs, which are already in service, after they were delivered earlier this year.
Besides the special police livery, all three cars also get the emergency lights, sirens and the rest of the necessary equipment of a patrol car.
